In this day long work shop you will design, lino cut, block print and make a lampshade and experience the joy and calming effects of hand block printing. It is a traditional technique and is suitable for all abilities and block printing is simple when you know how! Emma is an experienced teacher and will expertly guide you so that you are taught the techniques and tricks to get print results you’ll be proud of. We will create and carve simple yet effective lino cut designs, choose a colour palette, then print this onto fabric, before being shown how to construct the lampshade. At the end of the day, you will take home your beautiful and unique creation to hang from the ceiling or place on a lamp base. Different shade sizes are available.
This workshop will equip you with the basic techniques and tips, so that you come away feeling confident and very possibly- as it’s addictive, having caught the block printing bug! Plus, you will have created a unique shade to decorate your home.
