A Little About Me

Designer and Educator

Artist

I invite you to discover my paintings and illustrations, enter my world rich with captivating characters, vibrant colours, waves, wonder, polka dots, patterns and pussy cats.

Born in the Isle of Man in 1970, my first degree was in Fashion Design and a love of clothes, pattern and textiles are evident in my bold and sometimes autobiographical work. I am a professional artist I am endlessly inspired by living by the sea, my cats, old Victorian photographs, Mughal paintings, my life, inner world and the people I meet.

Sgraffito Abstraction

Moving to glorious Cornwall has been life changing and deeply inspiring, from trying my hand at landscape painting to plein air sketching and experimenting with abstraction, my work continues to evolve and change in unexpected ways. Enlivening walks on the beach, noticing the marks on the sand, shapes of the pebbles, seaweed fagments washed up on the shore, the constant changing of the sea, historic sea side towns and bright colours on a crowded beach offer new creative possibilities and energy.

I am an artist, designer and educator and work from my cosy home studio in North Cornwall. As well as my own art practise, I love to teach and offer vibrant block printing and lampshade making courses and offer one-on-one art tuition. Last year I launched a You Tube channel, on which I share my knowledge and enthusiasm with others. Plans are afoot to add more online workshops and courses to my repetoire and mission is to spread a little more creative joy in the world!

Stunning Cornwall Beach

I loves paddling, sea swimming, long walks, to laugh, chocolate and sketching unsuspecting characters at my favourite local cafés.My paintings are in private collections in the UK, Europe and have travelled as far as the antipodes.
